Cancellation Policies

We pride ourselves on having very experienced and professional instructors who rely on teaching for a living. They need to get paid for the time they schedule lessons. Please kindly read the following cancellation policies and please understand and respect the reason they are required.

What If I Miss A Lesson?

If you need to miss a lesson, please let us know as soon as possible, so our teachers can use that time to arrange make-up lessons for other students. You are allowed one make-up lesson per month if the teachers schedule allows. (see Teacher Make-Up Policy). Refunds are not given for missed lessons. No refunds or make-ups can be given for missed group lessons.

What If I Miss A Band Workshop Session?

Due to the nature of the band workshops, any missed sessions cannot be refunded or made up.

Band Workshop Cancellations

In order to receive a refund or credit for a workshop you wish to discontinue, you must inform us at least two days before the second meeting of the workshop. After that time, no refunds will be given.

Lesson Make-Up Policy

It's a good idea to ask your teacher about his/her make-up policy at your first lesson. This will clear up any potential misunderstanding. If a student misses a scheduled make-up lesson, that lesson is forfeited and will not be rescheduled, nor payment refunded. We cannot make-up make-ups.

When you sign-up for lessons you reserve a time slot on your instructor’s schedule. If you need to miss your lesson, you must try to contact us at least 24 hours in advance to receive a make-up. If your lesson is missed due to illness it is up to the instructor’s discrection if you receive a make-up.

Teacher Cancellations

If an instructor has to cancel a lesson, you will have the option of choosing either a make-up lesson or credit.

Sick Students

It is best for students who are sick to not come to lessons. This helps keep other students and staff healthy. However, notifying the teacher in advance of an absence does not require the teacher to offer a make-up. The teacher may do so, but is not required to.

Excessive Absence Without Withdrawal

If a student misses two consecutive lessons without contacting us, it will be assumed that he/she has dropped out. The student will still be responsible for the full payment for the missed sessions but will not be allowed to continue lessons without first contacting the school administrator at least 24 hours before the next scheduled lesson time.

Leaves of Absence

In cases of emergency or serious illness, a leave of absence may be requested. All requests must be made to the school administrator. If approved, credit may be given for those absences.jessie-friedman-lesn1-450w

Discontinuing Your Lessons

Please tell us when you want to discontinue your lessons. We assume that you will be continuing lessons at the end of each month unless you notify us otherwise.

Weather Related Closings

In cases of inclement weather or unsafe road conditions, classes may be cancelled. If weather seems uncertain or you are uncertain please feel free to call us at (615) 425-0256.

Holidays and Scheduled Breaks

World Music Nashville has over 600 students from elementary age to senior citizens. Our school age students attend public, private, parochial and home schools in at least five counties. As a result, your school calendar may not coincide with the teacher. Arrange with your teacher well in advance any make ups that you might need due to these school breaks.
